Sociologists of service “Gallup” asked citizens of all continents of the Earth such question. They want to find the most tobacco dependent country on the planet. And it was Cuba. About 40% of the population, both men and women hold a cigarette in their hands. Russia, Belarus, Kuwait, Chile and Bangladesh take the second place in this ranking – 37%. A third of smokers are in the Baltic countries, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Less than 10% of smokers are in poor countries like Nigeria, Salvador, Ghana, Afghanistan and Ethiopia. The smokiest regions are the territory of the former USSR. South America has fewer smokers than the other continents. Doctors remind that smoking is one of the most frequent causes of premature death.
