10 ways to quit smoking

Before you quit smoking, first of all, you need to realize: smoking is not a passion, but physiological and psychological dependence on cigarettes. Moreover, physiological dependence is not as serious as some people think. To overcome it is quite real. It is harder to get rid of psychological dependence. This requires a serious motivation.   4. The so called “freaky” way. It is rather a compromise than a full refusal. The idea is to smoke fewer cigarettes every day. So when you get to one cigarette, you can try any of the more radical ways. Because it is easier to give up one cigarette than the whole pack.
  5. You can quit smoking for the company with anyone – friend, colleague, even a mistress. One condition – it must be the person with whom you spend a lot of time. For greater efficiency it is necessary to embed serious sanctions in your agreement, it is better economic ones. And there are no exceptions.
  6. Ask friends, neighbors, and acquaintances whether they quit smoking. Among their methods, undoubtedly, there will be suitable ones which are worth considering.
  7. Scare yourself. Get a piece of paper, the size of a pack of cigarettes, write harmful things which nicotine makes to you and do not forget about the terrible things. And stick it to the pack of cigarettes. Thus, each time when the hand reaches for the cigarettes, the mind will immediately respond to it.
  8. If “folk” methods will not help, try to seek help from doctors. Acupuncture and suggestive treatment are quite effective methods. In the case of acupuncture needle is introduced into certain points of the auricle, destroying the “reflex of the smoker”. During suggestive treatment psychotherapist sets the patient to refuse tobacco and conducts hypnosis. The point is to inspire the fear of smoking.
  9. Less effective, but more advertized, are medicines for the treatment of tobacco dependence. The most common among them are nicotine patches, which deliver nicotine through the skin into the body, thereby removing the physical dependence, but not psychological. Apparently, because of this fact I have never met the person who quit smoking.

Some of these ways remind medieval torture. However, the “victim” will not be in vain. The doctors assure that in 20 minutes after the last smoked cigarette the blood pressure comes to normal, heart work is restored and blood flow to the extremities is improved. And in 8 hours the oxygen content in the blood becomes normal. If you do not smoke more than two days, the sense of taste and smell would increase. A week later, the complexion will be better, and the odor of the hair and skin will disappear. A month later, a health will be returned: headache, fatigue and cough will be gone, and it will be easier to breathe. I am personally convinced that the doctor do not lie when I quit smoking three years ago. And I may advice you to get rid of this habit. At least try to do it.
